Services within the offering:
Enhanced Server Operating System Security
Enhanced server operating system security service provides protection of highly-sensitive systems in a shared environment and also to inspect traffic when encryption is being used on agency servers.
Enhanced database security is provided for specific database instances. The EDS software does not modify the database and occupies up to 3% of CPU core.
Standard UNIX systems offered are Solaris, AIX, HPUX and Linux-Redhat. Options consist of small 1-2 CPUs, medium 3-4 CPUs, large 5-6 CPUs, and enterprise over 6 CPUs in the manufacturer's standard build and includes up to 4GB RAM.
Virtual Unix server instances are offered via an AIX platform and supports AIX and Linux-Redhat server instances. Server instance options consist of small 1-2 CPUs, medium 3-4 CPUs, large 5-6 CPUs, and enterprise over 6 CPUs, with up to 4GB RAM.
- OS390 - Direct Access Storage Device (DASD)
DASD storage available on the IBM mainframe is highly available enterprise class storage and available in logical or dedicated volumes.
- OS390 - Storage Area Network (SAN)
Tier 1 is highly available high performance storage. Data is replicated to the VITA Southwest Enterprise Solutions Center (SWESC) and backed up.
- OS390 - Tape Storage
Tape storage service is for use in the IBM environment and is available in multiple formats. The rate is based on gigabyte increments.
- Unisys - Tape Storage
Tape usage is available in several different formats. Virtual tape volumes are primarily used, however Physical 3890, 18 & 36 track formats are available as well. Rates are per gigabyte increments of tape storage.
- Direct Attached Storage Device (DASD)
DASD can be internal or external located at CESC/SWESC or at a customer site. Performance is determined by attachment type: small computer system interface (SCSI), SAS, Internal Disk, etc. DASD is backed up by a standard backup process and billed by the actual amount.
- Direct Attached Storage Device (DASD) - No Backup
DASD can be internal or external located at CESC/SWESC or at a customer site. Performance is determined by attachment type: small computer system interface (SCSI), SAS, Internal Disk, etc. DASD is billed by actual amount and is not backed up.
- Tier 1 - Commonwealth Enterprise Solutions Center (CESC)
Highly available high performance storage with end-to-end redundancy and remote administration. Data is replicated to SWESC and backed up.
- Tier 2
Highly available scalable performance storage with end to end redundancy and remote administration. Data is backed up.
- Tier 2 - No Backup
Highly available scalable performance storage with end-to-end redundancy and remote administration. Data is not backed up.
Storage - Tier 2
& 3 -at CESC
Tier 3 Storage is for event driven, rarely accessed data, and is not designed to support latency-sensitive applications such as online transaction processing.
